Backpacks lined up for drug search

Kentucky State Police used drug detecting dogs to conduct a search for illegal drugs at Carroll County Middle School today. The search is part of the district's ongoing commitment to eradicating the use of drugs within our schools, according to Carroll County Schools Chief Operations Officer/Director of Pupil Personnel Mark Willhoite. Student backpacks were scanned by the dogs. Vaping, including the use of THC vapes, has become a nationwide epidemic and our community is not immune from this problem. Carroll County Schools is committed to working to protect our staff and students. These type of searches will continue in our buildings at random dates and times, Willhoite said.
