Three pretty cute partners from the Carroll County Animal Shelter made an appearance at Cartmell Elementary School last week.
Shelter Director Teresa Hehe brought three puppies to the school when she collected items donated through Cartmell. A group of students known as Animal Savers are operating the collection drive. It is part of their Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP) project, which will be presented April 19 at the state competition at Rupp Arena in Lexington.
To date, they have collected 213 items for the shelter, including dog food, treats, collars, leashes, blankets and cleaning supplies, according to Diane McCarthy, STLP coach and second grade teacher.
Their efforts will conclude on March 31. Anyone who has donations, can bring them to Cartmell.
The groupās participants include Sophia Simmons, Caroline Simmons, Raistlin Wainscot, Deacon Sellers, Kitana Keller, Jaxon Routon, Eliana Davis, Adam Wentworth, Bradley Routon, Matthew Tingle, Bryston Marksberry, Alan McCarthy, Kylee Estes, Jackson Hicks, Sofia Boyer and Christopher Lopez-Ramirez.
