New Carpentry Students

The newest set of students accepted into the Carroll County Area Technology Center was announced this week.

They will study the areas of automotive, information technology, construction carpentry, electrical technician, welding, clinical medical assisting and pre-nursing.

Construction carpentry students learn to build a structure from the ground up. Students will learn the basics for site preparation and pouring of foundations, floor and wall framing, and ceiling and roof construction. In addition, they learn to read blueprints and take a course on job safety.

The new Construction Carpentry students are: Kelby Maiden, Parker Mumphrey, Celia Tuttle and Kassi Combs.

Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair students will learn the fundamentals of car repair and maintenance in the areas of braking systems, electrical systems, steering and suspension. In addition, students learn how to change fluids, change and balance tires, utilize alignment systems, and much more.

The new Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair students are: Dustin Layton, Charles Troxell, Rickey Farrar, Rakeem Patrick, Jesse Mann, Dakota Carmack and Braeden Kemper.

The Information Technology pathway prepares students for a career in Network Administration. In addition to learning computer fundamentals, students also are introduced to the security fundamentals, network administration principles, and programming.

The new Information Technology students are: Savannah Wright, Jocelyn Casteneda, Preston Snow, Jack Bolton and Dulce Lucero Cruz.

Electrical Technician students will learn the fundamentals toward becoming a commercial or residential electrician. Basic wiring principles, electrical theory, circuitry and motor controls are included in the curriculum. The TRACK Pre-Apprenticeship exam is offered upon completion of the program, which can allow students to skip a year of their apprenticeship if they pass.

The new Electrical Technician students are: Dustin Battaglia, Dylan Marsh, Aidan Cox, Bryson Chadwell, Tyler Franklin, Exekial Lewis and Dillon Human.

The Welding program at CCATC prepares students to become a welding assistant. Students learn the basics for the various types of welding, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding. Students also learn to read blueprints and can receive their OSHA-10 card. Multiple welding certifications are offered through this program.

The new Welding students are: Helena Guy, Landon Supplee, Dominick McCollum, Lyric McKinney, Pablo Castillo and Dalton Crawford.

Clinical Medical Assisting (CMA) students take courses in healthcare fundamentals, medical terminology, medical math, medical office procedures, and medical assisting. They have the opportunity to test for their certification in Clinical Medical Assisting upon completion of the program.

The new Clinical Medical Assisting students are: Taylor Bailey, Chliah Mumphrey, Caitlyn Satchwell, Sara Means, Montana Isaacs, Anastasia Moore, Lacie Gross, Josie Dale, Jaden Nohner, Mallory Noble and Landon New.

The Pre-Nursing Program offers students the opportunity to become Certified Nursing Aides. Students learn about nursing fundamentals, medical terminology, and medical math. Students in the second year of the program are offered the opportunity to test to become a certified nurse aide.  

The new Pre-Nursing students are: Raegan Chapman, Kaylee Snow, Ryleigh Ashby, Jewleena Taylor and Angela Rogers.
