Commencement ceremonies were held for 114 Carroll County High School seniors this afternoon.
Students donning black and gold gowns filed into the gymnasium to the traditional Pomp and Circumstance. They heard comments from Principal Amy Sutter, Student Body President Aiden Crutcher, Valedictorian Andrew Frye, Salutatorian Richard Brack Cayton-Wright and Senior Class President Chloe Young.
“I would like to congratulate each of you on your accomplishments and wish you well in your future endeavors,” Principal Sutter said. “I’m extremely proud of each of you.”
Sutter also issued a charge to the class of 2023 to continue transforming the meaning of the phrase “what do you expect, it’s Carroll County.”
She said Carroll County High School students have a commitment to do their best, courage to battle through tough times and show caring and compassion to friends and family. “I thank you for showing me the true meaning of ‘what do you expect, it’s Carroll County,’” Sutter said.
“I challenge you to spread that throughout our community, state, country and world,” she concluded.
