Two Carroll County High School students were chosen to be ambassadors to the Swiss Wine Festival.
The annual event held in Vevay, Indiana, offers high schools an opportunity to nominate a male and female to compete for a total of $1,800 in cash prizes. Carroll County nominated Gage Stone and Rileigh Darnold for the ambassadorships.
Each pair rides in the parade in a vehicle they and their classmates decorate, then they participate in an interview with judges and answer an on-stage question or tell what a selected quotation means to them.
The incoming CCHS seniors plan to decorate the Darnold family Jeep in Carroll Countyās black and gold school colors. Both are going to wear cheerleading uniforms. Rileigh said they would like to have other cheerleaders, members of the football team and any other Panthers who want to participate follow them on foot in the parade.
The Swiss Wine Festival parade is at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26.
