CCHS Panther football standout Zayn Satchwell has accepted an invitation to play in the U.S. Army’s Elevated Mission All-American Senior Bowl.
Zayn was nominated for the team by former football coaches Carroll Mullikin and Richard Smith. The game will occur Feb. 2-3 in Zephyr Hills, Florida.
Six players in the area were nominated, but only Zayn was selected.
“A lot of guys in small high schools think they won’t get the opportunity to play, but that’s not true, as you can see,” Mullikin said to an assembly of seniors at the high school last week.
Sergeant First Class Bryan Crabtree of the Kentucky National Guard was also present for the announcement. “The thing that got him here was his mindset. That applies to you, no matter what you do in life,” he said.
A number of friends and fellow football players posed for photos with Zayn after the announcement was made in the high school gym.
