Eighth graders from CCMS recently got to tour iLEAD Academy. They visited each of the classrooms within the school, spoke with students and learned about all the offerings available at iLEAD.

The Young Leaders juniors and seniors from Carroll County High School were recognized for their leadership at the Carroll County Board of Education meeting last night.
Representatives from law enforcement, government, public safety and education career fields spoke with CCHS students during the Career Cluster program today. The professionals spoke to the group as a whole then divided into small groups in alignment with the students' interests.
Kameron Melton, a student at CCHS and Carroll County ATC, was recognized for his operation of the CCHS food pantry as well as making Kentucky-shaped cutting boards to give to the board of education members. His workmanship, completed in the ATC Carpentry class, was given as part of School Board Appreciation Month. Superintendent Casey Jaynes praised the board members for their commitment to Carroll County Schools.

The Carroll County Child Development Center's Home Based Program held a Sesame Street birthday party for its families this week. Home-Based Services has workers assigned to teach parents to be their childās first teacher. The Home-Based option is intended for children from 6 weeks to 3 years old. There are services for pregnant mothers as well. The event was held in conjunction with the Carroll County Cooperative Extension Service's Christy Eastbrook. Several Carroll County Special Olympics athletes competed in the winter games this week. A number of CCHS students volunteered for the event as well, including a crew from the Fellowship of Christian Athletes/Anybodys chapter. Congratulations to all the athletes!

Carroll County High School has rescheduled its Homecoming festivities to Friday, Feb. 9. Varsity girls' and boys' teams will play Henry County. The girls' game begins at 6 p.m. and boys' at approximately 7:30 p.m. Homecoming royalty will be crowned between games. A dance will follow the basketball games in the high school cafeteria.
