The CCHS Bass Fishing team will hold a meeting Wednesday, Jan. 10 for anyone interested in participating.

The Kentucky Department of Education is seeking feedback as it searches for a new Commissioner of Education. The process should take about five minutes to complete.
It is important for all communities to have a voice in the selection process.
Feedback can be submitted through the Kentucky educators and administrators survey https://survey.k12insight.com/survey1.aspx?k=RQsQRSRUTsSsPsPsP&lang=0 or the Kentucky education stakeholder survey https://survey.k12insight.com/survey1.aspx?k=RQsQRSRUTsQsPsPsP&lang=0. The education stakeholder survey, which also is available in Spanish, is intended for use by families, community members, business owners and others with a stake in Kentucky’s public education system.

Happy New Year from Carroll County Schools! May 2024 be a wonderful year for all!

Students in the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant program at the Carroll County Area Technology Center held an ornament making event before the holiday break. The students used the event to raise money for a drug rehabilitation center. They have created a program in which they will educate middle school students about the dangers of drug use as part of the Lead4Change initiative. The students include Lacie Gross, Lexi Moore, Josie Dale and Landon New. They are taught by Julia Mazza.

Merry Christmas from Carroll County Schools!

Enjoy the holiday break!

Project-Based Learning (PBL) students broke ground on the observation deck beside the Carroll County High School pond. After much planning, writing a proposal and pitching the project before several school panels, it was approved. Students used batter boards and string to square the foundation before digging the first post hole. They also applied the Pythagorean Theorum (3-4-5 triangle) to square the corners. Students in the Future 42 Mentors program participated in mock interviews this morning with our industry partners, North American Stainless, Dow, NUCOR and Kentucky Utilities. Students prepared resumes and were given interview pointers.

Thanks to the Council for Better Education for their work in identifying the shortfalls in SEEK (Support Education Excellence in Kentucky) funding across the Commonwealth. This is how Carroll County Schools have been impacted since 2008 and what we need the Kentucky General Assembly to fund over the next two budget cycles. The SEEK funding program is a formula driven allocation of state provided funds to local school districts. The Council for Better Education is a nonprofit corporation founded to ensure full implementation of Kentucky’s constitutional commitment to our students and our common schools.
We encourage everyone in Carroll County to stay informed about school funding shortfalls and the impact it has on our students.

Carroll County High School is getting into the holiday spirit!

Future 42 Mentor Participants:
Next Tuesday, 12/12, will be the Future 42 Mock Interviews. This event will offer you the opportunity to sit across from hiring officials from our partner industries and practice your interview skills. This is an awesome opportunity!
Please be sure to be present that day and to wear appropriate attire. While you do not have to wear formal attire, I would recommend you wear a polo shirt, or comparable blouse, clean pants (jeans are fine, but no holes), and clean shoes. If your boots are dirty, clean them up. If you need assistance with getting clothing items, please let Mr. Rose know ASAP!
For this event you will also need a copy of your resume. Hopefully, you have made the changes that were suggested to you during the resume review activity we did several weeks ago. You should be coming in with a polished resume that you can hand to your interviewers.
Remember, and this is especially true for our Seniors, that you will be speaking with the same people that very well could be hiring you in just a few months. This is your chance to make a great impression. Don't blow it off!
This event will take place during the morning session, so afternoon students will need to ride over on the morning bus. Morning students will NOT need to stay back and should return to their home high school at their normally scheduled time. Each student will have an opportunity to do at least two interviews. There may be opportunity to do more, if time allows. After the interviews have completed there will be an information session about the Future 42 Program. This meeting is for Seniors only, and you will want to stick around for it.
This is going to be a great event! If you need anything, or have questions. Stop by and see Mr. Rose.

Our students do so many great things! As part of Mrs. Glenn's Leadership class students had an assignment to create a big goal to fill a community need. Students, Isabella Herald, Chasidy Henry, Kyleigh Pietrus, Willa Hall, Jaelyn Holbrook, and Jayden Marlette (not pictured), created care baskets to give to fellow students who might be having a rough day. These baskets were distributed to school counselors in Carroll, Trimble, and Gallatin Counties. As part of the ongoing assignment, these students plan to enter their project into the Lead4Change competition with hopes of winning a grant for their nursing program. Great job girls!

Electrical technology students at the Carroll County Area Technology Center removed outdated lighting and will install upgraded LED lighting in a classroom that is being remodeled.

Effective immediately, no vehicles will be allowed to drive in the bus lane in front of Carroll County High School's main entrance between 7:15-7:45 a.m. Student safety is paramount for Carroll County Schools and it has become necessary to restrict access to this area. Drivers should enter the student parking lot through the first gate (closest to the football field) and drop off students at the stop sign.
