The Panther Spirit filled Carroll County High School’s gymnasium this morning as staff returned for the first day of their 2024-2025 school year. Students return on Wednesday, August 14.
Carroll County Schools Superintendent Casey Jaynes challenged the group to “find their why” this year and have a positive impact on whoever fits that bill. “I challenge you this year to find your why in Carroll County Schools. If all of us find one, that will impact about 350 kids,” Jaynes said.
Jaynes speaks frequently about #Vision2035 as he looks toward the future students will experience and how Carroll County Schools can prepare them for their next steps. As a point of reference, he said the graduating Class of 2035 will enter second grade this school year. A video presentation depicted some of the futuristic expectations of our world that have become a reality today, including self-driving vehicles, 3D printed houses, an Amazon retail store with no employees, fast food kiosks and robotic surgeries.
“All those dreams in someone’s brain are becoming a reality for our children,” he said, noting educators will need to expand their teaching to incorporate the traditional pieces of learning as well as the technological advancements students see every day.
Jaynes encouraged the staff to have a great year and maintain the positive energy levels that are permeating the buildings as we draw near to the first day of school.
