Five members of the CCHS Cross Country team set new personal best times this weekend at the Williamstown Invitational. Taylor Harsin, Lydia Risk, Ava Noe, Jonathan Pirtle and Teague Walls all achieved new personal bests. The overall results were: Boys Taylor Harsin - 19:41.5 Aiden Lilley - 21:37.7 Alex Bolton - 21:58.5 Johnathan Pirtle - 25:15.6 Teague Walls - 25:19.3 The boys’ team finished in 12th place with an average time of 22:46.52 Girls Lydia Risk - 29:32.5 Ava Noe - 43:46.1

Carpentry students at the Carroll County Area Technology Center learned to pour concrete recently. The group will use those skills to eventually build a foundation for a tiny house that will be erected on the ATC campus.

Several Carroll County High School students were inducted into the National Honor Society at iLEAD Academy this week. NHS Treasurer Jackson Marsh and Vice President Carson Lipe, who are also CCHS students, assisted President Roger Phelps with the induction. The Carroll County inductees were Katherine Southworth, Alyssa Horner, Macie Miller, Edwin Rodriguez and Chris Perez. Students from other counties who were inducted include Taryn Alcorn, Emma Boes, Eliza Cornett, Cara Cobb, Heath Phelps and Dominic Sileo. National Honor Society members must maintain a 3.6 grade point average, complete an application demonstrating leadership, character and service as well as write an essay.

The CCHS golf team won the NCKC tournament today. Panther golfer Ayden Taylor was the medalist with the lowest score of all players. He shot a 75 for the day to take first place. Branon Battaglia was named to the all-tournament team after securing a score of 78. The Panthers competed against Walton Verona, Gallatin County, Owen County, Trimble County and Henry County in the tournament. "These boys push each other to be better and the support they show for each other is awesome," said Head Coach John Battaglia. "The off-season work is showing up now with some low rounds.
