You're never too old to celebrate Valentine's Day and compete for the best decorated box in the classroom. At least that's the spirit in Diane Glen's pre-nursing class at the Carroll County ATC. Students in the morning and afternoon classes celebrated the holiday.

February is CTE (Career and Technical Education) month. Students in the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant program at the Carroll County Area Technology Center learned recently about donning and doffing personal protective equipment.

Principal Amy Sutter joined students to cheer on the Panthers while Assistant Principal David Craig and long-time friend Carrollton Police Chief Mike Willhoite took advantage of a beautiful photo backdrop to recreate the Step Brothers poster.

CCHS held a pep rally today in advance of tonight's homecoming games against Henry County. Games begin at 6 p.m. The king and queen will be crowned between the girls' and boys' games. Students played a game of Hungry, Hungry Hippos with the juniors taking first place and the basketball players also competed in a game of Knockout against the staff. Carroll County ATC Student Advisor Chad Rose learned how to weld today thanks to the help of Dillan Human and Lyric McKinney. Rose mentioned to them that he would like to learn to weld, so they offered to teach him.
“This was my first time holding a welding torch, so everything was new to me,” Rose said. “I learned how to set up my welding rod, how to strike an arc, how to lay a bead and several other things.”
Logan Perdue, Dillan Human, Lyric McKinney and Caleb Richardson have earned spots in the regional welding skills competition to be held in Frankfort next week. Good luck to these Carroll County Area Technology Center students!
