Carroll County bus drivers

Carroll County Schools transportation department has prepared for the upcoming school year by adding 18 more centralized pickups to their plan.

“We added more centralized spots to make it more convenient for parents,” said Transportation Director Dianna Dunn. She noted most of those new stops are within the city of Carrollton so multiple routes will not be necessary this year.

Most of the centralized pickup points are the same throughout the county. A full list of the pickup locations is available at this link routes for this school year (1).xlsx.

Buses will be traveling over the Kentucky River Bridge between Carrollton and Prestonville after its weight limit was reinstated to 22 tons.

“We are excited that we are able to add more pick up and drop off locations for our families to start this school year,” said Director of Pupil Personnel/Chief Operations Officer Mark Willhoite. “We strive to make it as convenient as possible.”

Routes will be reviewed throughout the school year and, if necessary, changes can be made to further help our community, Willhoite said.

Carroll County Schools Superintendent Casey Jaynes added his appreciation to parents and community for supporting the transportation plan. “As a response to the bus driver shortage that we are still experiencing, we appreciate our parents and community in your support of this plan.  Our transportation department has made it a priority to get students to school on time with as late a pickup time as possible and getting students home from school as early as possible."
