All CCHS students who are registered for a co-op or work-based learning experience are required to attend a three-hour orientation. Four options are available to students: July 30 from 8-11 a.m. or 12-3 p.m. or August 8 from 8-11 a.m. or 12-3 p.m. Students who are registered to co-op through the Carroll County Area Technology Center are encouraged to attend on July 30 while those registered through CCHS are encouraged to attend on Aug. 8. School Community Liaison Jeff Fremin will lead the orientation. He will be accompanied by ATC Counselor Chad Rose on July 30 and CCHS teacher Mackenzie Wright on Aug. 8. High school registration, senior start-up and computer rollout occur on Aug. 8 at CCHS. This will not conflict with the required co-op/WBL orientation. The orientation will be in the maker space at the high school. For more information, contact Mr. Fremin at jeff.fremin@carroll.kyschools.us.

The Kentucky Shakespeare troupe provided a dramatic history of Kentucky to middle school students before the school year ended. They took a journey through time with the actors, touching on highlights like frontier life, Native Americans, Daniel Boone, Abraham Lincoln and the basic history of Kentucky. The presentation was paid for through an arts grant from the Northern Kentucky Cooperative for Educational Services.

This summer, Kathryn Winn Primary became a creative hub for several artists. Staff members and two high school students worked together to paint murals, build Lego wall designs and create various design elements that now adorn the school. Their efforts were mainly concentrated in the cafeteria and bathrooms. In the cafeteria, a team of Aayme Kindoll, Brandi Castle, Tiffany Riley, Kara DeBaun, Brenna Mefford, and Zackary Kindoll painted a series of lively murals. Additionally, Zackary Kindoll crafted a Lego mural featuring Captain Bubble versus General Germ in the boys' bathroom, adding a playful yet educational touch.
