The senior Young Leaders visited the Kentucky State Capitol to learn more about legislative processes in the Commonwealth. They were recognized in the Education Committee where they heard important legislation related to the current school year's calendar. They toured the Capitol with a guide before ending the day by sitting on the floor of the Senate chambers and being recognized by Senator Williams. One student even got to file an amendment! ššThe Carroll County Schools Transportation Department is implementing a new rule that will limit the number of addresses to which a student can be delivered by a school bus.
āWe are getting overwhelmed with bus passes so we are going to have to work together,ā said Transportation Director Dianna Dunn.
She explained that school buses are fully loaded and adding more students is beginning to create problems. The district is asking parents and guardians to work together to make this a seamless transition.
āStudents are allowed to have two addresses and those will be the only two addresses that they can be delivered to,ā Dunn said. The exception to that rule is a high school student who has a bus pass to go to work.
Questions can be directed to the transportation department at 502-732-7099.šš
