Agriculture students used Reindeer Games to learn about caring for animals during the winter months.
The students played Snowball Drop and read an article on the positive and negative impacts of snow on agriculture. They also built snowman families using marshmallows and chopsticks while discussing important rules for animal care during the winter months.
The Carroll County Panthers will compete today and tomorrow in the Jefferson County Invitational Tournament.
The Panthers take on Southwestern tonight at 6:40 p.m. All games are played at Connor K. Salm Gymnasium at Madison Consolidated High School. The Panthers will also play at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 23 and advance to afternoon games based on their pool placing.
Fans should park in the south lot of the high school and enter through door 6 or door 8. Tickets are $8 per person and can be purchased at the gate or online. Concessions will be available.

A few third graders were treated to a visit from their neighbors at Carroll County High School before Christmas break began.
Co-curricular students taught by Hannah Marsh and Kendall Clifford made ornaments for the children in Natalie Abbott and Cassandra Southworthās classes. They also read books with the children and colored with them. The groups even enjoyed cupcakes as a treat from the Cartmell classes. (More photos on the district Facebook page.)

Students in the Agriculture Employability Class engaged in mock interviews this week. A variety of potential employers assisted the students with resumes and interviewing skills.

All members of the Carroll County High School Cross Country team were named Academic All-State or Honorable Mention Academic All-State.
First team Academic All-State (GPA 3.75 or higher): Adree Dermon, Lydia Risk, Jonathan Pirtle and Teague Walls. Honorable Mention Academic All-State (GPA 3.25-3.74): Ava Noe, Aiden Lilley, Taylor Harsin and Alex Bolton. Congratulations to these student athletes!
The Carroll County High School FFA is hosting a Christmas tree decorating contest this week. The trees will be judged tomorrow and the winner gets donuts, juice and milk on Friday. (More photos on the district's Facebook page.)
Project-Based Learning (PBL) students broke ground on the observation deck beside the Carroll County High School pond. After much planning, writing a proposal and pitching the project before several school panels, it was approved. Students used batter boards and string to square the foundation before digging the first post hole. They also applied the Pythagorean Theorum (3-4-5 triangle) to square the corners. Students in the Future 42 Mentors program participated in mock interviews this morning with our industry partners, North American Stainless, Dow, NUCOR and Kentucky Utilities. Students prepared resumes and were given interview pointers.
Carroll County Middle School treated the community to two plays and a talent show on Friday night. Students performed Barbie and Shrek. Staff and students participated in the talent show, which was held between the two plays.

Carroll County Middle School students participated in the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) hands-on museum yesterday. They visited stations that taught them about virtual reality, robotics, generating energy through motion and how to work together to build.
