The Kentucky Department of Education is seeking feedback as it searches for a new Commissioner of Education. The process should take about five minutes to complete.
It is important for all communities to have a voice in the selection process.
Feedback can be submitted through the Kentucky educators and administrators survey https://survey.k12insight.com/survey1.aspx?k=RQsQRSRUTsSsPsPsP&lang=0 or the Kentucky education stakeholder survey https://survey.k12insight.com/survey1.aspx?k=RQsQRSRUTsQsPsPsP&lang=0. The education stakeholder survey, which also is available in Spanish, is intended for use by families, community members, business owners and others with a stake in Kentucky’s public education system.

Dear Cartmell families,
Today you will receive your child's NTI packet. This packet should either stay in your child's backpack, or be placed in another safe place around the house. Your child will not need to complete anything from the NTI packet UNLESS we have a district NTI day. In the event we have a district NTI day, this will be communicated across all district and school communication platforms.

Carroll County Schools has a few opportunities to join our team! Check them out at join.ccpanthers.com.

Panther families, if you don’t have a Rooms account for your student yet, now is the time to sign up!
Rooms is a two-way communication tool for parents/guardians and teachers. Each child has a Room for each class in which they are enrolled. Carroll County Schools is excited to offer this communication tool in conjunction with the Carroll County Schools app.
If you don’t have a Rooms account, a new invitation will be sent to the email address you provided at the time your student was registered. Please be on the lookout for the invitation!

Happy New Year from Carroll County Schools! May 2024 be a wonderful year for all!

Merry Christmas from Carroll County Schools!

Santa paid a special visit to one Cartmell Elementary classroom before the holiday break began.

Cartmell Elementary students performed a Christmas musical for students and families. Melissa Staley directed the groups. (More photos on the district Facebook page.)

A few third graders were treated to a visit from their neighbors at Carroll County High School before Christmas break began.
Co-curricular students taught by Hannah Marsh and Kendall Clifford made ornaments for the children in Natalie Abbott and Cassandra Southworth’s classes. They also read books with the children and colored with them. The groups even enjoyed cupcakes as a treat from the Cartmell classes. (More photos on the district Facebook page.)

Enjoy the holiday break!

Thanks to the Council for Better Education for their work in identifying the shortfalls in SEEK (Support Education Excellence in Kentucky) funding across the Commonwealth. This is how Carroll County Schools have been impacted since 2008 and what we need the Kentucky General Assembly to fund over the next two budget cycles. The SEEK funding program is a formula driven allocation of state provided funds to local school districts. The Council for Better Education is a nonprofit corporation founded to ensure full implementation of Kentucky’s constitutional commitment to our students and our common schools.
We encourage everyone in Carroll County to stay informed about school funding shortfalls and the impact it has on our students.

Effective immediately, no vehicles will be allowed to drive in the bus lane in front of Carroll County High School's main entrance between 7:15-7:45 a.m. Student safety is paramount for Carroll County Schools and it has become necessary to restrict access to this area. Drivers should enter the student parking lot through the first gate (closest to the football field) and drop off students at the stop sign.

Cartmell Elementary students were given a mission today by iReady Secret Agents.
iReady Secret Agents Wells, Stark and Long visited classrooms to give each group their Mission Possible assignment. Students are preparing for the iReady Diagnostic math assessment. The iReady Secret Agents challenged the students to do their best on this important mission. A similar challenge will be issued for the AMIRA Benchmark Assessment following the theme AMIRA’s Adventure.
